about amy
I am a self-taught, personal chef in McCall, Idaho. I discovered my hidden talents and passion for healthy food shortly after moving to California after graduating from the University of Idaho. Being surrounded by the bounty of fresh and local ingredients, I quickly embraced food and taught myself the benefits of clean, whole food eating. I also found that I am a natural at food combinations and a wizard for bold, unique flavors and plate detail.
In 2004, after much dedication and endless creating, Amy's Whole Food Creations was born and a culinary dream was set into reality. My experience, as an executive chef, with prestigious wineries and clientele - along with hands-on culinary training at local, fine dining restaurants - helps me provide an amazing, customized experience for all of my clients. I also specialize in alternative and restrictive diets such as gluten-free, dairy-free, raw food, vegan, and vegetarian cuisines.
In 2008, I was a Harvest Fair award winner in Sonoma County. I am certified in food safety and preparation and I have a Bachelors of Science,in Biology, from the University of Idaho. I also provide nutrition and lifestyle consultation to clients throughout Idaho and the United States.
things i love
Food Styling
I am a fanatic about detail. I feel like you eat food with your eyes first before even taking a bite. I love showcasing and respecting the food and making it look like a work of art. Once the plate is styled and ready for presentation, it's worthy of photo and capturing the moment.
Snowboarding, Motorcycles, Mountain Bikes & Training
I've always been an athlete and a bit of an adrenaline junky. I've constantly strived to rip as hard as the boys and have the discipline and drive to keep up and be good. Determination leads to success on the mountain and in my life. The training has so many added benefits that keeps me strong, healthy and mentally grounded.
Fashion
I like to be unique and uncommon. Fashion is a fun way to show your individuality and personality. I have a slight addiction to jeans, belts, flashy jewelry and shoes.
Gardening
I managed a one acre, organic garden when I lived Northern California. That garden taught me so many skills and life lessons, including my passion to make food my career.
Music & Dancing
Music brings so much joy and happiness to my life. I have many styles and genres that I respect and appreciate. When I'm working I like alternative, hard rock which keeps me focused and on track and when I'm home, chilling with my sweetie, I like anything from house, rap, dubstep, ambient, country, reggae, funk or classic rock. The mood dictates the genre.
Other Things I Love
Friends, traveling, animals, crafts, fishing, yoga, home remodel, interior decorating, fermenting foods and the quest to optimal health and vitality.
